A 54-year-old Chipman woman has been charged with attempted murder after a 40-year-old woman was stabbed in Salmon River.
Joanne Alice Lewis appeared in Burton provincial court yesterday, where she was sent for a psychiatric evaluation.
The RCMP say the stabbing incident happens on Wednesday. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to hospital, but police say non of the injuries were life-threatening.
A 61-year-old man was also arrested on Wednesday evening in Chipman. Police say he was questioned and released.
Lewis returns to court on Feb. 14th.
