Family of four staying with relatives after house fire

A Parker Ridge Family is temporarily homeless after a fire this past weekend.

According to the Upper Miramichi Fire Department, firefighter responded Saturday evening after flames were discovered by occupants of the home.

While the home is standing, fire chief Brian Spencer says the building suffered smoke damage.

The couple and two children who lived in the home are staying with relatives and are being helped by the Canadian Red Cross.

An investigation is being conducted into the cause of the fire, but Spencer says early indications are that it was electrical in nature.
