Girl’s death prompts change to Blackville parade

The tragic death of a four year old girl in Yarmouth has prompted the Village of Blackville to make a change to its annual Santa Clause Parade of lights .

The village is asking parade participants to refrain from throwing candy from their floats. They are also requiring that all participants be on their float – no walkers will be permitted.

The parade is this Saturday beginning at 5.

The city of Miramichi’s parade of lights already has a rule against throwing candy.

The city’s parade is scheduled for Dec. 7th.

Four year old MaCali Cormier died this past Saturday after falling underneath a float during the Yarmouth Christmas Parade of Lights.
