The province’s Aboriginal Affairs Minister says the Gallant Liberal government left the city’s multiplex application to gather dust.

Jake Stewart says when he looked into the matter recently, he found nothing had been done with the city’s application.

The city is seeking more than $40 million in combined funding from Fredericton and Ottawa to help build the recreation facility.

The MLA for Southwest Miramichi-Bay du Vin says he feels bad for city officials, who appeared to be under the impression that their application was being reviewed.

Stewart says he has now been assured the application will get an honest consideration.
