Around 50 nursing home employees held a protest Tuesday at the constituency office of Miramichi MLA Michelle Conroy.
It was one a several held across province.
The workers are among 4,100 who have been without a contract since 2016 and who voted to strike last week.
But the province has been granted a temporary court order blocking workers from striking while the government challenges a labour board ruling that allowed the workers to walk out in the first place.
Workers at the rally echoed calls by their union for wages that reflect cost of living increases and concerns over staffing levels and recruitment.
Conroy was not there for the protest and said she was disappointed she had missed it.
She also said she wants to see the matter resolved quickly.
