A convoy of around 200 trucks and other vehicles rolled into Ottawa yesterday to protest the federal government’s energy policies.
The United We Roll Convoy for Canada left from Red Deer, Alberta last week.
Organizers are trying to rally support for the energy sector and to encourage the federal government to build more pipelines.
Many of the protestors held signs calling for pipelines and for an end to foreign oil, as well as calls for Ottawa to get rid of its carbon tax.
Protesters did not get to hear from the Prime Minster, but Conservative leader Andrew Sheer spoke to the crowd.
A second day of protest is planned for today.
