Senior hockey league cracking down on inappropriate behaviour at games

Officials with the Acadie-Chaleur Senior Hockey League say they are taking steps to crack down on racist, sexist or homophobic acts at their games.

Going forward, an announcement will be made before each game in English and French reminding players and fans that there will be zero tolerance for such actions.

The league has received a number of complaints this season about inappropriate remarks by fans towards other fans and players.

Most recently, there was an incident in Tracadie during a playoff game between the Alpines and the Baie Sainte Anne Navigators.

Teams have also been asked to strengthen their arena security and immediately kick out any offenders.
