Two people are facing charges following a police chase in the city earlier this week.
The Miramichi Police Force says they received a call on Wednesday of a collision on Church Street in Chatham.
Police alleged that a pick-up involved in the incident, fled towards Newcastle.
Police say the vehicle was being driven in a dangerous man, forcing other vehicles off the road.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle at the roundabout, but the truck crossed into the opposing lane to avoid being stopped.
Then on the opposite end of the Miramichi Bridge, the truck was involved in a collision with a Miramichi Police Force vehicle.
Police say the driver flet on foot and was arrested a kilometre away.
34-year-old Gerald E. Lockhart of Moncton is now charged with dangerous driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to stop for police, breach of probation, and for resisting arrest.
Tickets were issued for having no insurance and fraudulent license plates.
A 33 year old female passenger in in the pickup was arrested as well. She will be returning to court at a later date to face possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of probation charges.
