The Miramichi Police Force says they had to rescue a woman who became trapped in a clothing donation bin during this week’s winter storm.
They say that on Monday, a passing officer noticed that one of the metal flops on a bin outside of the Lord Beaverbrook Arena appeared to be moving.
When the officer investigated, he found a 6o-year-old woman inside.
She told the officer she had climbed inside to get out of the storm and got stuck.
Several Canadians have died after getting trapped in donations bins including, recently, a 34 year old man in Vancouver late last month and a woman in Toronto earlier this month.
That has prompted a call for the design of the bins to be changed.
